ABOUT ME...
My name is Fernando Martínez and I was born in Barcelona in 1962. My two great passions have always been sound and photography, which is why I hold a degree in audiovisual engineering. The first one was covered for almost 40 years with my regular job at the radio station of my city, Sant Boi de Llobregat (I am now retired). As for photography, I started getting into it thanks to my father and his analogue MINOLTA SLR camera (which I still keep).
With the passing of years and the arrival of digital technologies, I temporarily opted for compact cameras due to their greater portability. With them, I have taken thousands of photographs of nature, landscape, and architecture, which has given me a special taste for perspective, vanishing points, and similar techniques.
During Christmas 2017-18, I decided to try an SLR camera again and acquired a CANON EOS 77D. With it, I began taking portraits and a few months later, I created my current Instagram account. In the first year, I photographed more than a hundred people, mostly people who have never been able to try the wonderful experience of feeling like a model for a few hours. I also took photos of experienced models, but I must confess that their lack of willingness to try things outside the standards of photographic posing means that this last group of people does not particularly motivate me.
In December 2020, I took another step forward and acquired a CANON EOS R mirrorless camera, which is the one I currently use. The same advantages of an SLR in a more compact size and with many more creative possibilities when doing photoshoots.
Since mid-February 2021, I have my own studio located at Cerdanya 14 street in Sant Boi de Llobregat, a place where I can carry out photoshoots with higher quality and comfort. The studio IS NOT FOR RENT, I only use it for my TFP sessions and those of some friends.
I also hold sessions in various cities in Spain (Madrid, Valencia, Zaragoza...) taking advantage of my passion for train travel.
As a curiosity fact, the name I chose for my work (8830photo) refers to the postal code of my city (08830 of Sant Boi de Llobregat) and is just one more little trick so that Google indexes me faster and shows me in any search carried out in its search engine with that postal code.
